  • Read a Book/Write a Review (CISSPs and SSCPs only)
  • Write Test Questions for an (ISC)² Examination - Item Writing (to participate in this activity you must hold the specific credential to write items for that credentialing exam. --e.e. CISSPs may only write for the CISSP exam, SSCPs may only write for the SSCP exam, etc. Multiple credential holders may participate and write items for an exam where they hold those specific credentials).
  • Proctor (ISC)² Exams (CISSPs only)
  • Join a Professional Information Security Organization
  • Write a Security Article

To maintain a CISSP certification, you'll need to document at least 20 CPEs annually with a minimum of 120 for the 3-year certification period.

During your subsequent full 3-year certification periods for these concentrations, 20 of the 120 CPEs already required for the underlying CISSP certificate must be in the specific area of concentration. For example, if a CISSP took the ISSEP concentration examination and passed, he/she would be required to submit at least 20 of the total 120 hours required to submit for the CISSP certificate to be in the specific area of engineering.

Personally, I've found that attending vendor presentations are one of the easiest ways to earn some quick CPEs.  If you've attended them in the past, but haven't documented them, most vendors will have sent you an email containing the presentation details or materials.  You can easily go back and search your email for these messages.
